“Jo is uniquely positioned to be the ideal person to teach you Spanish. Because as well as having 20 years of experience as a Spanish teacher, she’s also experienced exactly what it’s like buying a house as a Brit and settling into an exciting but unknown environment.”

Alison, Cheshire

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying Jo’s Spanish lessons and would highly recommend them. The lessons are very well structured and focus on practical, everyday situations that you genuinely need when spending time in Spain.
Thanks to the way the lessons are taught, I’m already finding I can have conversations at the market, in supermarkets, at restaurants and even manage simple discussions at the doctor. It’s
incredibly helpful to learn Spanish in a way that applies directly to real life.
For anyone planning to buy a home in Spain or spend extended time there, these lessons are invaluable. Having a clear structure to follow each week makes the learning process enjoyable,
motivating and very rewarding.

Sharon, 55

The lessons Jo teaches are ideal for anyone thinking about taking the plunge to live in Spain and how to adapt to the Spanish way of life.
Her teaching style is so easy to understand, she explains everything so well and have really gained an insight to the Spanish language.
I would definitely recommend her lessons to anyone looking for a property in Spain and can’t wait for my next lesson!

Jo, Australia

I recently completed an 8-week Spanish course with Jo Ashbury, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly! Each week focused on a different real-life theme — from dining in a restaurant, to visiting a pharmacy, or navigating various shopping experiences — making the content immediately useful.

Jo has a real talent for making language learning engaging and fun — incorporating games, group activities, and friendly competitions that kept us motivated and involved.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to brush up on your Spanish skills, I would highly recommend Jo as a teacher. The course was well-structured, practical, and a genuinely enjoyable learning experience.

I am looking forward to the next 8 weeks!

Paul, 64

I would definitely recommend Jo as a Spanish teacher. My Spanish is flourishing and I am really enjoying the lessons.

Dawn, 61

I had been wanting to learn a bit of Spanish since my son moved over a few years ago.

Night classes doing A level is way beyond my capabilities as I don’t consider myself scholarly, so when Jo, who I follow on You Tube, mentioned she was going to start giving Spanish lessons, in small groups, I contacted her to state my interest.  She had a call with me to explain how it worked before I committed to the class, and it sounded just what I was after.

Each week has been a different topic, including ‘In the Pharmacy’, ‘In the restaurant’, etc.

I am impressed by Jo’s ability to make learning both fun and educational, and how she got me to sing during lesson is a mystery, as it’s just not me, but it worked.

Mia, 24

I’ve been really enjoying my Spanish lessons with Jo, and have found them incredibly helpful. Thanks to the clear, supportive teaching, I was able to use my Spanish during a recent trip to Barcelona and felt much more confident communicating in everyday situations. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I could understand when people were speaking around me. I would definitely recommend these lessons to anyone looking to build practical Spanish skills!
